What is an Executor?
An executor of a Will is a person or trust company that has been appointed to perform all the duties involved with the administration of an estate based on the instructions in the Will. Often, our friends and family members are appointed to act as Executor for us when we pass away. However, people often find that the duties are time-consuming, confusing and can cause family tension. Most importantly, the tasks involved can go across multiple fields: accounting, investment oversight, and estate administration legal protocols. Examples of duties include managing beneficiary relationships, filing final tax returns, establishing Trusts and preparing final estate accounting.
Executor Support Services
Executor Support Services offered by Legacy Private Trust offer a unique solution to this problem: the person named as Executor remains the Executor and we can do work as their agent. As a licensed trust company, Legacy Private Trust specializes in performing Executor duties. Our services provide relief and help to Executors and their families as they go through the process of losing a loved one.
Working with Funeral Homes to Bring this Service to You
One of the first tasks that must be done as an Executor is to arrange the funeral according to the instructions in the Will. Often, the person arranging the funeral for the deceased is the Executor or working closely with the Executor. Since a funeral home is where individuals receive help and guidance through the funeral process and bereavement period, we can work with funeral homes to help Executors who are unable or unwilling to take on the duties.
